Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies.
My name is Amanda Steger and I am a Biology Major/Psychology Minor entering my 3rd year at Queen's. I am writing to seek a Letter of Permission to study abroad as an independent exchange student for the Winter 2015 term.
I have thoroughly researched a number of suitable universities whose courses correspond to my Queen's degree plan (and several of which are partner universities with Queen's). I believe that supplementing my Queen's BSc honours degree with experience abroad will enrich my undergrad experience and credentials, particularly for post-graduate studies.
I have already spoken with the International Programs Office as well as the exchange universities. In addition, I have spoken with my advisors in my departments (their appeal documents are to come shortly). I fully understand the implications and responsibilities of going abroad for a semester and I have developed my degree plan for 3rd year and 4th year so that I will be able to meet all of my Queen's degree expectations as well as the expectations of me abroad.
Sincerely,
Amanda Steger

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I plan on completing my Psychology Minor while abroad.
I will maintain a full course load to ensure that I complete my degree in the four years as planned. With permission from my departments, I plan on completing the 15 Queen's credits for my Psychology Minor with comparable courses at the exchange university. Upon my return, I will complete the remaining 6 half courses for my Biology Major, and 4 electives.
I am determined to be successful in my undergraduate career, thus I will continue to work hard and be dedicated to my studies. I will be in contact with my departments here at Queen's, as well as the exchange university, to ensure that I complete my degree plan successfully.
