Re: Appeal Amendment ¿¿ to Waive 21 day/One Term Appeal Deadline
To Whom it May Concern,
Please accept this appeal amendment requesting to waive the 21-day/one term appeal deadline (end of April, 2017) to drop MUSC 171.
I have applied to drop MUSC 171 (by earlier letter) as a result of a fractured foot/sprained ankle requiring treatment from October 30, 2016 to January 23, 2017, and emergency oral surgery thereafter on February 1, 2017. I missed numerous classes and fell behind as a result, and I could not catch up. I subsequently became seriously overwhelmed, anxious and depressed.
As indicated in my earlier letter, I was in a downward spiral during the appeal period, and didn¿¿t have the wherewithal to research my options or the capacity to manage a procedural appeal at that time. At that time, I was experiencing symptoms of significant depression, but was not yet in receipt of medical care for the same. I am now receiving medical care for depression and anxiety. I enclose for your consideration a letter from my family doctor, which is self-explanatory. I simply could not manage the appeal in addition to everything else that I was trying, and failing, to manage at that time. Now that school is complete, and I am receiving medical care, I am well enough to able to apply.
I hope that you will extend consideration to my appeal to waive the deadline, and my appeal to have my grade withdrawn, in the circumstances.
I am happy to meet to discuss the matter further.
Thank You,
Zoe Conner
