Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
This appeal is to request an Aegrotat standing in ENGL 100-700. Due to severe panic attacks and anxiety I was unable to attend the final exam for this course resulting in a NG status. Anxiety has manifested quiet severely in my academic career over the last year, However I managed to pull together and improve my GPA during this time. In my particular case my anxiety manifests into IBS like symptoms that make leaving the house during a panic attack impossible. All I ask in this case is leniency and the opportunity to write the final exam of ENGL-200, at any time. My health has improved through daily medication and talk therapy, as well as learning to self cope with what triggers my anxiety. Additionally I received a referral to a queens Psych from my family doctor, however Queens health services declined to forward this referral choosing instead to start me on a treatment plan of anti anxiety medications through an in house doctor, which has improved my mental health as well as coping strategies in relation to my anxiety. I am a First Nations student that receives Full funding from Garden River reserve, and I only hope to not jeopardize any further funding towards my degree, as a result of health complications.
Thank you for any consideration you may provide in this matter.
Rachel Agnew
