Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to be admitted to BCHM 421 despite not enrolling before due date. The reason I did not enrol in this course before the academic due date is that I did not think I would be able to take the biochemistry specialization (SSP) because I did not enrol in it the previous year. However, last Wednesday (September 20) I asked a professor if he would allow me to volunteer in his lab for experience and he encouraged me to at least attempt to switch into the SSP program. At first, this was denied, as I was informed on Friday (September 22, the due date). Since I was able to find a supervisor my request was reconsidered and Steven Smith, Densie Cameron, and John Allingham informed me today (September 26) that I would be allowed to switch. Now I have the problem of adding this course after the due date has passed which is why I am submitting this appeal.

I hope that you will consider allowing me to enrol in this course as I have already been approved by the aforementioned people and my supervisor, Peter Davies. I am really looking forward to preparing an undergraduate thesis and I hope you will allow me to do so.
