New Information: I am submitting this addition appeal to ¿¿waive the one term deadline¿ with regards to failing grades I got last year (Fall 2016-Winter 2017). The reason I did not submit this appeal during the required time frame had to do with the fact that I was simply too sick to understand what was going on. For the the past 4-5 years of my life, I have been struggling with mental illness that has affected my personal life, my academic career and my athletic career - basically my whole life. This appeal, however is about my academic career at Queen's, so this is what I am going to explain. For the past 3 years at Queen's, my schooling has never been my first priority. My priorities were making sure I was able to get out of bed in the morning, getting dressed, getting out the door, eating more than 100 calories a day, and not doing 4 intense 1:30hr cardio exercises, and if that was not the problem, then the problem was not being able to talk, to move, to think, to text/call/email. I had to quit my job, because I wasn't able to go most of the time, and I saw the immediate consequences (my boss being angry, other employees having to work more), but with school, since the immediate consequences didn't affect me right away, I couldn't see them and honestly had no energy left for that. Nothing mattered but the day to day survival, so I didn't see any future. I was also travelling back and forth from Montreal to Kingston every week for appointments which was extremely hard emotionally and physically, because my whole life was a mess, I had two full-time homes, had to miss so much class, and wasn't invested in anything.

Now that I have gotten some perspective, some more help from psychologists, have begun meditating and doing yoga regularly, I have been able to understand a little more about my illnesses, I don't understand what is going on exactly in my head, but I have a better idea. I track my moods to see and prepare myself for the next day. If I have had a good two weeks, I know that I need to expect a bad week soon enough and I try my best to set myself up for the bad one. I don't take medication, because it reacted poorly and me go crazy.

I am a good student, I really like school and this is not the type of person I am, and I want to fix myself. I also want to move on from my time at Queen's and I can't logistically with failing grades like that. I have had such a terrible university career and I just want to get better and to be able to live properly. I am asking that you wave the one term deadline with regards to CISC 121, CISC 102, STATS 263 (this course is in another appeal right now for exam deferral) so that I can Queen's without being dragged down even more and so that I can just fix myself and not have to work to make up for the worst years of my life and the consequences that came with them.
