Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am appealing to request to waive the 21-day/one term deadline in order to drop SOCY and change the F to ¿¿Dropped.¿
This is because I was unable to attend several lectures and tutorials (tutorial participation was worth 20). By being unable to attend classes and lectures, writing effective essays was extremely difficult.

This surgery impacted my whole course load for the semester, and whilst I had accommodations, I was expected to complete many assignments at home, including my essays. However, by not being able to attend lectures or office hours, taking pain killers, and being extremely tired, I was unable to complete the assignments, resulting in failing the course.

When I missed nearly all my classes in February, I found it extremely difficult to catch up with all my classes. While I found SOCY 227 extremely interesting (which is why I took it as an elective), I unfortunately could not pass this course due to circumstances which were out of my control. I would really appreciate being able to drop this course.
