Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting to waive the 21-day deadline to drop Dram 211, Dram 246, and Dram 219. These were courses that I was enrolled in during my second semester of 2nd year (Jan-April 2017). During this time I successfully dropped the other courses I was taking during the deadline but did not drop these courses on time due to severe mental health issues related to my recent diagnosis of Bipolar 2 disorder, trauma from an assault in January of that year, and going on and off medication that left me extremely incapacitated during that time. I was unable to perform day to day tasks let alone keep track of add drop dates and so I received failing grades in those courses rather than having them erased from my transcript. I was seeing a counsellor through Queen's at the time, Whitney Babcock, as well as a psychiatrist at the CDK walk-in clinic, Dr. Banic who can attest to all of this information.
