Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Due to financial crisis during the fall term, I was unable to submit an appeal to write a deferred exam for PHAR270. For the month's of September until November I was living out of the Muslim Welfare Center in Whitby, Ontario after a conflict with family and being kicked out of where I was living before. I was getting my financial, housing and emotional well being back together for November and December and am now able to make a decision for an appeal. Due to this financial and housing crisis I was unable to submit an appeal until now. I was accepted to have the exam deferred in April and submitted a note from a psychiatrist to Prof. Jane Mulder. I am now able mentally, and financially to submit an appeal to write the PHAR270 exam this winter 2018 semester. Professor Jeanne Mulder supports my decision to try and write the exam this semester if the Dean decides to wave the one term appeal deadline and approves my appeal to write the deferred exam this winter.
I was unable to write the exam in April 2017 due to a mental health crisis where I was hospitalized in BC and then hospitalized again in Oshawa in August 2017 for an ongoing bipolar disorder. Due to mental health difficulties I was unable to write the exam for PHAR270 in the summer. Financial difficulties and emotional vulnerability made me unable to write in the fall or make a decision to submit an appeal. Now I am emotionally, mentally and financially stable, I can make a decision to submit an appeal and am able to write the exam for PHAR270 this winter 2018 semester. I am submitting a note from my psychiatrist in Oshawa along with this appeal letter.
