Petition Letter: To Whom it May Concern,
Regrettably, the reasons for this appeal letter are as follows. In order to graduate with honors in political science, I am required to take a 300 level course this semester along with two 400 level courses next year and another two 300 level courses. Realizing this I hastily enrolled before the deadline in POLS 393. I attended both classes the following week and quickly realized that this was not a course I would succeed in due to interest and past experience with similar formats. As such, I was driven to drop the course even after having paid the 680 dollar fee.
Following this, I am extremely concerned about my academic future and I have contacted both the Arts and Science office as well as Cynthia MacIntosh who have both directed me to submit an appeal as well as contact the Department of Politics Undergraduate Chair and the Course Instructor. All of which I have done.
Subsequently, I've come across complications in regards to enrolling in an additional 300 level POLS course this term. Due to the fact that Queens does not offer online Politics courses, I am unable to catch up in the summer. Otherwise, I would see this as the most practical option. Nevertheless, POLS 361 remains an open course and I will be attending all classes as of now in hopes that this appeal will be approved. This will effectively eliminate any additional material that I could have potentially missed.
If you would please take into consideration the slim time frame that remains before my graduation as well as my initiative in regards to solving this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you for your time,
Jonathan Bouchard
