Dr. Johanne Bénard
Associate Dean (Studies) Queen¿¿s University

Good afternoon,
My name is Alex Mihailov. I am appealing to add HIST 226: The Later Middle Ages (Winter 2018) after the course add deadline.
I made the decision to add this course in order to replace an online course (DEVS 221) that I will be dropping if this course addition is confirmed. I would like to add this course (HIST 226) as it deals in subject matter that I have a specific interest in. Many of the other courses that I am taking this semester deal with similar subjects in a similar historical period and context. I have attended this course in lecture and during its tutorials with the support of both Professor Agresta and the Undergraduate Chair of the History department. As a result I have not missed any evaluations and am therefor not behind in the course. Another factor in this decision is that this is an in-person, on campus course. I have a rather packed schedule this term taking my first seminar course while working two jobs. As a student I find the structured nature of classroom learning helps me organise and prioritize my work load. I have found scheduling and budgeting my time for the online course to be ineffectual and feel that this experience would perhaps be better suited to a less busy term in the future. I hope that in spite of this oversight I will be able to continue my semester in good academic standing, with the addition of a new course.
My apologies for any inconvenience this appeal may have caused, I appreciate your consideration and anxiously await your decision.

Thank you,
Alexander Mihailov

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have completed all required course work and evaluations for HIST 226 to this point at the direction of Professor Agresta. I do not anticipate adding the course will negatively affect my academic standing.

Documentation

Professional Letter Detail: My documentation will be sent separately to the Faculty Office. It will include written endorsement from the Professor in question and the Undergraduate Chair of the History Department.
