Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I would like to appeal the drop deadline for courses for the winter term. I am appealing to drop a course that I am currently retaking. I am re-doing Econ 222 after already passing it in the 1st semester. I wanted to retake it in attempts to get a higher grade however it just turned out to make my course load much heavier. I have gone through multiple panic attacks and stress filled nights and loads of anxiety because i have been unable to cope with all the deadlines I've had and I was beginning to get worried that I would fall behind. Furthermore my parents live on the other side of the world and not being able to see them for 7-8 months at a time can be uneasy and I get very homesick from time to time. For these reasons It had come to my attention that my course load is too much and that I was barely able to keep up with all the work I have from my other courses and so for that reason I would like to drop this course despite it being past the drop deadline. I have been exhausted with midterms and tests and assignments and quizzes this past week with more coming in the next week and so being able to appeal and drop this course would greatly help me relieve some stress and manage my workload a little better.
