Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Studies):
I am appealing to drop ENGL 273 which I am currently enrolled in for Winter Term 2018. I have struggled with mental health issues throughout my life and have experienced difficulties as a result of this since I began university in the fall of 2016. It has been an ongoing challenge to find the correct balance in terms of my course load as I work with my doctors to manage my health condition. Dropping ENGL 273 would relieve the pressure I feel to catch-up in that course and allow me the space to concentrate on my other two courses, which I am doing well in, while continuing to focus on my health. As described in the attached letter from Dr. Meghan Wilson, Locum for Dr. Susan Phillips of Queens Family Medicine, I am followed actively and regularly and I am complying with all treatment suggestions. I ask that you grant my appeal and support me as I work to achieve success in my remaining two courses. My goal is to finish my Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree by managing a course load that may vary in course number but will be achievable.
