Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to appeal the grades assigned to me in first and second semester of this year (2018). I would like to have everything dropped and removed from my transcript without academic penalty.
At the end of the Fall Semester of 2017 I had some mental health issues that impacted my academic results. I suffered some severe and debilitating anxiety and depression and notified my professors that I was unable to finish my final papers and write my final exams (see attached). I had hoped to return to class in the winter semester with a reduced workload but on returning to class the anxiety and depression returned. I was confined to my room and had difficulty eating, sleeping and focusing. Attempts to write papers and study further triggered my anxiety which has made it exceptionally challenging and unfortunately I am unable to complete the work required. I found all of this extremely difficult and have had to take a leave of absence to focus on my mental health.
During this time I have been seeking support and have been to my family physician, Brockville Emergency department and Queens Wellness Services. I had considerable challenges finding my way through the Queens health services but I was finally able to get an appointment with Wellness Services for a Psychiatric referral but the doctor indicated since I was taking a leave of absence I should consult with my family physician.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I care deeply about my studies I had been working hard to maintain, and hopefully improve my GPA, prior to this occurring. My original goal was to attend Queens Law but at this time that feels like a long way off and I ask for your understanding. I would like to return and complete my Queens degree and with this appeal hope to avoid further setback as I work through my recovery.
Sincerely,
Scott Rombough
