Petition Letter

Petition Letter: My name is Adrien Mindjimba, my student number is 20008577.
I am appealing two decisions from the French Department. The first one concerning the FRENCH 250 class taken by myself in the Winter 2018 term.
I have two issues with the marks given to me. The first one being that I feel that there is discrimination toward me from certain staff in the French Department. I am French born and I am taking French classes to improve my GPA, but the past three classes out of four that I have taken in French I did not get good grades. My first class was French 150, intermediate French, I finished with an A-. But since that first French class I got Bs, Cs and Ds. My first prof was Monsieur Rouget a French born professor. And after him I only had none French born or teachers from Quebec, and since then I cannot seem to be able to get good grades. Other issues with the French Department and teachers from Quebec are being brought up by me to the Human Rights office because of the discrimination. And the second issue is that we are being taught French from Quebec in my FRENCH 250 class. Some expressions and words do not exist in French but we are taught that way. I would not have a problem with it if it was indicated in the description of the class on OnQ, but it is not and therefore I am being marked wrong on exercises that are the equivalent of grade 6 in France. Which is unacceptable.
Therefore I would really like to be able to get a Credit equivalent in that class because I do not want my GPA to fall because of a teacher that is not following the description of the class on OnQ.

The second appeal decision is about my french class from last semester FRENCH 241. If it is too late it is not that important but one of my grade was a 72 on the compte rendu critique (final essay). I did a really good job, my mother reviewed it. She did all her studies at University in French in France. and the grade was not what it should have been. I would like for that assignment to be reviewed if possible.

Thank you for your time,
Sincerely yours,
Adrien,
