Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I would like to request an appeal of my mark on my final exam in Biomechanics and the resulting final grade. I have outlined below, the reasons i feel the exam was not a reflection of my efforts in the course.

I received a a 43 on my final which was 90 of my final grade. The final and midterm exams were worth 50 and 405. Professor DIesbourg has a rule that if you do better on the final it will be worth 90 and that was the case for myself. However, I received a 74 on an assignment worth the final 10. On 2 parts of the final that made up 50 of it I received a grade of 71. The other halfway however, I did poorly. The reason I feel the exam was unfair was because the content of the question worth the most marks in other 50 section was not taught during the year. Due to this fact, I feel it was an unfair question that had a significant affect on my final grade. My final grade in the course was a 47. I feel the 74 and 71 prove I knew a good amount of the course material and one question work such a significant amount should not result in a failing grade.. I believe a 50/ passing grade is a fair result of my efforts in this course.
