Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing for a late drop of two courses I took in Winter 2017 semester. The courses are Clinical Psychology and Geology and are currently on my transcript as failed courses.
I am requesting that I am allowed to drop these courses based on the following extenuating circumstances.
In October 2017 I tore my ACL playing hockey for the Kingston Frontenacs. The tear required reconstruction surgery and I went home to New York to get this done. After the Christmas break I returned to Kingston and the Frontenacs. At the insistence of my parents I signed up for two classes at Queens even though I really felt overwhelmed with the rehab and team commitments.
with all the time commitments I had to the team and the rehab process and trying to get game ready again, adding school was really overwhelming.
I probably should have dropped both courses at this point but I didn't and subsequently I have tow failing grades.
I am looking to enroll full time in Queens in the fall of 2018 and would really like an opportunity to start fresh with out two failing grades on my transcript.
