Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am urgently requesting a drop for this course as I had initially intended to do so roughly two or so weeks into the course, well within the academic deadline to do so, but having forgotten to follow up on the steps. I'm sure that it is well out of the standard behaviour for a student to only participate in the introductory assignments for the course, and this is because I had erroneously assumed that I had dropped the course and forgot about it.

Currently, this near-zero mark on my transcript is preventing me from reaching the baseline eligibility to upgrade to a Honours program, which is something I have been actively working towards (and keeping in frequent contact with academic advisors) for the last three years. I only became aware of this issue as my initial application to change my plan was met with an honours warning email, which led me to look further into this--and find the F grade in WRIT125 despite having assumed I had dropped it. As per the advise from two advisors in the last two days, I have contacted Lori Vos (professor of WRIT125) and she has verified that I have been a non-participant in the course for the sheer bulk of the course, well within the academic deadline for drops.

It is of utmost importance that this appeal decision is made before the end of the Late Change of Plan window. Thank you so much.
