Petition Letter: Hello,
I am appealing to waive the decision of the request to withdraw for one year, it was devastating to find out but I knew it was coming. I did not face the obstacles and instead, I chose to escape.
I did IB program at my high school in Canada, it was a bad decision because by the time I applied my family and I thought it can help my look when applying for university. I don't know how much it helped but it certainly gave me significant drawback. The three HLs I took was History, English (Mandatory in Canada) and Chemistry. All of them which I have no need in pursuing my I.T. career. I was mediocre at best and tried so hard to compete with the smart kids, which was everyone. Constant Inferiority made me depressed, and I started to ignore things I don't want to see in my life and just let them happen. This obviously was not good as I even perfunctorily did my university application. I am luck Queen's accepted me.
By the time of the first year comes I was still not happy, I knew I could have done better and I will be in a better school and I constantly feel like I am better than this, and with that mentality in mind, I did not treat things seriously. At first, I did not do my homework, then assignments and eventually I stopped going to lectures. I took CISC 101, CISC 102, MATH 121, MATH 111 and GEOL 104 in the first semester. In all of them I only focused on CISC 101 and by that I mean I went to the final exam of which. In the second semester, I took CISC 121 and PHIL 101. Throughout the year I could not once look straight ahead and face the problem or ask for help. By the end of the year, I only went to the CISC 121 because that is what I only studied for. Obviously, I failed all the other courses and just when I thought CISC 121 could at least pass, it didn't. Turns out only going to the final was not enough. After talking with my parents about it I collapsed. Crying and vomiting out of nervousness and sadness. And I said to myself, this have to end, I need to work towards what I want and stop blaming others, I have been blaming others for my fault and laziness and it caused this failure. I will no longer do that.
Right now, I have signed up for MATH 121, Spanish and CISC 102 in summer. I am ready to prove myself that I will face the challenge. So please, let me try again in the second year, I am ready for the hardship and I will face them.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: From now on, when there's hardship, I will face it and solve it instead of looking away and ignoring it. I will not trap myself in my house and I will attend every lecture/lab without missing any. I will seek out help to the academic counselors when I don't know what to do. I will make my second year better.
I still want to pursue computer science and I know I am smart enough for it, I just need to work hard for it. And now, I believe I finally have the correct mindset to face university after one year of struggling and failing. Please give me another chance.
