Dear Associate Dean to Studies,

I am appealing to drop CISC 101(Summer, 2018).

Earlier on May 22nd, I logged into my SOLUS account to try to drop the course and I thought it was successfully dropped. Therefore, my mother and I decided to come back to hometown this week. The reason why we decided to leave was that she did not have to work on this weekend and my grandmother slipped and broke her leg before but till we came back she was still not recovered because she did something made her wound tearing again several days ago. My hometown is a little town so that it was unable for me to visit a website from other countries, for the signal was unstable and the network worked deadly. Then we leaved hometown on Sunday May 27th. The next following days, I attempted to visit the Queens website by different ways, such as using other devices, different VPNs and Wi-Fis even the personal hotspots, and so on. However, the browser just showed that it cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server or the webpage was just keeping loading. On June 1st, the last day of academic penalty deadline, it seemed that this evening I eventually can log into my SOLUS for the web was loading like a creeping turtle and the images gradually emerged from ice. Suddenly, I found out the course was lying there quietly, I tried to drop this one more time but I failed. When I looking at my Holds, I realized that I was required to withdraw one year. I went back to my Queens email account and read the file. Immediately after I noticing that I had to email the office to drop the course without penalty for me, I wrote the email to the office. The problem happened again. After I clicked ¿¿send out¿, the state showed that it was sending. A few minutes later, the email was remained at the state of sending. The page was stuck, thus I was obliged to refresh the webpage and type once again. When the thing was finally done, email successfully sending out, it had already been 2:30 a.m. on June 2nd.

For the person who is reading my appeal, I respectfully and genuinely expect that my appeal is granted.

All the best.

Sincerely,

XiaoyanLiu
