Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,

I am writing appeal waive the withdrawing of my enrollment.

I admit that my results have not been satisfactory, I am utterly ashamed and surprised of the outcomes. While I agree that this is a policy of the school, I am begging for your consideration against this decision.

I have been under a lot stress lately due to the family status. My mother suffered from breast cancer at the end of 2017, which made a financial strain to my family.I am a international student from China, distance makes me worry about my family, at the same time I was in a academic probation, the worry about my mother and the academic pressure made me stressed out and cannot be eager to my sudies. I will provide my mother's discharge note and operation note as supporting documentations.

There is also a situation that I got an F in the course Econ 111, I planned to retake this course winter term because I had many required courses in the fall term. When I was choosing the course for winter term I realized that Econ 111 is a fall term course so that I could not retake it, which is a main reason that my GPA did not meet the requirement.Although I did not retake the failed course, my GPA was improved to 1.36 in 2017-2018. I promise if I have the chance to enroll next term, I will retake all my failed course and make my GPA improved a lot.

Given the change to enroll next term, you can be assured that I shall make good use of the opportunity and putting all my effort to meet the requirement next time.

Your kind consideration of my appeal will be greatly appreciated.
