Associate Dean,

Re: Exceptions to the 21-day appeal deadline

This is a formal request to move forward with my appeal as I did not receive the notice requesting to withdraw from the faculty until today, Wednesday, June 27th, 2018. After speaking to Ms. Kerry Andrews in Student Services she had confirmed that it had been sent to me on May 22nd. Unfortunately I did not open this email, as I was looking for a heading with the subject line entitled Require to Withdrawal.

A complicating factor is that I am currently enrolled in two classes (Full credit course Calculus and credit course in Ancient Humour). The frequent emails associated with these course distracted me from opening the Require to Withdrawal notice. Furthermore, not knowing that I did not receive the email, I made numerous calls the Faculty to confirm my academic status. During these numerous phone calls I had been reassured that they would look into my status and I would have to wait in letting me know when I can appeal.

Again today I connected with the faculty because I had not yet been made aware of my academic status and therefore called the faculty to seek information. It was today at 2:47pm when I had been informed that I had missed the deadline.

At this time I am asking permission to extend my deadline for appeal until 12:00pm June 29th. Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

James MacAloney
