Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Due to unforseen circumstances and changes upon moving to Canada, and away from my family, this previous year of my university career has been predominated by my mental health hindrances. I was diagnosed with severe General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in December a long with my already established ADHD. Anxiety and recurring panic attacks begun occuring at the beginning of the school year and continuted until the very end, and whenver I was in Kingston. GAD developed due to severe loneliness and depression which resulted from spending months alone in a very quiet town in which I felt an outsider to, thus resulting in me being outside of classes. This begun to spiral downwards, contributing to my anxiety, and my inability to get out of it and feel as though being dug deeper. In summary - I was mentally incapable of attending classes / missed an amount of classes exams, thus my grades in university have not reflected my abilities and hard working nature. I did not allow myself to settle and left the city frequently to feel sane. I have been seeing psychiatrists and am now taking medications that have improved my mental state and being home has helped continue to work towards recovering.
I ask to be excused from MATH 121 as it is the only class I had failed and as shown above and by my high school math performance - is an inaccurate representation of my ability. I plan on retaking MATH 121.
