Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean (studies),
I am submitting an appeal to wave the 21-day deadline related to my requirement to withdraw for one year due to my GPA falling below the required level.
I never received notification of the 21-day deadline or the information pertaining to the requirement to withdraw for one year. It was not until today (July 18th, 2018) that I was made aware of the deadline by calling an academic advisor. After learning about the deadline, I went through all my emails in my inbox, clutter, and deleted folders in my queens account as well as my personal email account. There is no record of the email stating that I am required to withdraw for one year.
I understand that this is well past the 21-day deadline, but I would appreciate a waiver of the deadline given the circumstances surrounding no notification receipt. Please advise if this is possible as I would like to go through the next steps to appeal my stay at Queens University and continue my studies. If this is not possible, please advise if I can appeal in person or if there are any other options available to me.
Thanking you in advance for your attention in this matter. As you can probably appreciate, this is a very stressful time for me and the lack of notification did not help. Waiving the deadline requirements would be a tremendous help.
