Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I apply for the appeal drop for the failed courses because my study was badly influenced by the seriously illness during that time. I had noticeable discomfort in my head since the 2016 winter term. The main symptoms are head vertigo, pain and persistent fatigue, and this problem became particularly serious since the 2016 fall term. Because the illness badly influenced my study and daily life, I went to Queen's Wellness Center and Kingston General Hospital several times for continuous inspection and treatment, but the treatment effect has not been satisfactory. From 2016 fall term to 2018 summer term, the symptom was repeated and I could not find the reason of it. During that time, I took 4-5 courses because I hope to graduate on time, but finally I failed most of them due to the health problem. I didn't heard about the appeal drop until the Academic Advisor of faculty of Arts and Science told me during 2018 summer term. The Academic Advisor advises me to deal with the health problem before doing academic works, and apply for the appeal drop for the courses that have been failed due to disease effects in the past. So I went back to China for a comprehensive examination of my head (I didn¿¿t do it Canada because it takes too long to apply, I applied for the CT test in Kingston General Hospital in 2017, but I haven¿¿t received any reply so far) and accepted a one-month treatment. The Chinese Notary Office copied and translated my diagnosis results from the hospital, and after getting the certify of the Chinese Notary Office, I handed them in to the Queen¿¿s Faculty of Arts and Science in September 18th as the medical documentation of the appeal drop, the documentations indicate the reason, symptom and approximate duration of my illness.

After I found out the cause of the illness and received a month of treatment, I felt that my condition had improved significantly. I am still taking the medicines for further treatment, and I believe that my future physical condition will support me in completing my degree at 2019 Winter term.

Thank you.
