Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am appealing to have the three classes I've submitted to be enrolled into this semester. The reason I am trying to enrol in these classes a few days past the deadline is because I was on an ordered leave of absence from my doctor. Last year, near the end of the year, I saw a sudden change in my mental health. It escalated quickly and resulted in a diagnosis of OCD. The OCD I suffered from was obsessive thinking disorder. This essentially paralyzed me and made thinking freely essentially impossible. Therefore, I was not planning on coming back to school this semester, until my doctor cleared me a few days ago medically able to go back. I am on medication and have done therapy and counselling, therefore my health has substantially increased and I feel fit to work again.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My academic plan will consist of a less course load this semester to ease myself back into academics. I will be communicating with my doctor weekly in order to make sure I am on tract with my medication and treatment. Along with this, my doctor has organized therapy and counselling for me at Queens when I come back. Since being on medication this summer and doing therapy, my health has substantially improved from where it was and I feel fit to go back to doing academics sufficiently.
