Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Academic Associate Dean,

Greetings. I am writing this letter to appeal for taking MUSC 115 in the Fall 2018. The reason for this late adding course appeal is that I did not gain the permission to take this course from the instructor Darrell Bryan untill Thursday September 20th, which was already a day after the deadline of course registration.

The entire procedure and interactions with the Music Faculty demonstrates as follow. I emailed Mr. Bryan to seek his permission to rejoin the Choral Ensemble on Wednesday September 19th, 2018. I received the email of approval from Mr. Bryan on Thursday at noon. I forwarded the permission email to the Music Faculty assistance, Kimberley Gudlauski, immediately afterwards. However, I did not hear back from Ms Gudiauski until Monday afternoon at 15:12, September 24th indicating that I need to register MUSC 151 at the Arts and Science Faculty Office.

I am writing this appeal to ask for your permission to take this course in the fall both for my personal interest and the desire to contribute to the music department since my first year.
