Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop this course after the deadline due to the birth of my baby on Nov 2, 2018. I was given a due date of Oct 27. Had I given birth on or before this I would have had ample time to decide whether or not I could handle continuing with the course and new baby before the deadline. Unfortunately life does not often go as planned. I went a week overdue and planned to drop the course on the deadline date if I hadn't had baby before. I did not go into labour and was called in for induction first thing Nov 2 and subsequently gave birth that day. This made it impossible for me to drop the course on the deadline. I have since been struggling to get myself caught up on materials and any school work done. My academics will inevitably suffer which may hinder any opportunity I had of continuing into a degree program.


I would very much appreciate consideration for my appeal to drop this course without academic penalty after the deadline.
