Petition Letter: Dear
Dr. Johanne Bénard,
I am appealing to have BIOL 102 (fall 2018) removed from my academic record due to medical reasons.
Due to my medical illness, I have faced many challenges in regards to my academic success. My illness has challenged my ability to focus and obtain new material in respect to reading and listening and I have been extremely limited socially. In addition, my illness has discouraged me from being involved in the community and socializing with peers and I have found it terribly hard to organize my thoughts and express them appropriately in regards to school work. Further, due to the severity of my medical circumstance, the additional weight of school has posed threats on my well-being. In regards to timing, my illness would have affected my ability to perform academically from the start of the school year to the present day. I have seen multiple doctors, all who have stated that I must immediately take a medical leave (doctor note attached). In total, I feel as though my illness has tremendously affected my academic character and I kindly request that the severity of my condition is taken into consideration in terms of my appeal.
In regards to my future plan, given my circumstances, it is crucial that I withdraw from Queen's University. My academic success is very valuable to me and I plan to make personal adjustments so that I am fit to succeed academically in the future whether this is at Queen's or elsewhere.
Sincerely,
Olivia Wilson-Lall
