Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern:

My name is Alexandra Riker and I am a third year student at Queen's in the Art's and Science Program, majoring in Applied Economics. I am appealing to study abroad for Winter 2019 semester of my Third Year of my Honours Program at Queen's University under an international letter of permission.

I have been accepted to study at Universitat Autonoma De Barcelona (UAB) in their Pre-Established Study Abroad Program. I have met with the Undergraduate Chair of Economics at Queen's, Professor Ian Cromb, to discuss my academic plan and ensure that courses taken abroad will meet my degree requirements here at Queen's.

Furthermore, I believe that studying abroad is especially helpful to broaden international connections that will only aide students in the work force later on. Studying abroad to me is an unmissable opportunity that provides so many benefits to learn and grow as a person, in a way that can only be obtained through international submergence.

I will be sure to make the most of this experience should this appeal be granted.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Alexandra Riker

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I plan to take Economics courses as well as elective courses at the host university. I have checked with the Undergraduate chair of Economics that the Economics courses I plan to take will transfer back to Queen's. I am confident that this decision to study abroad will compliment my Academic Plan at Queen's and equip me with a new skillset to bring back to the classrooms here.
