Petition Letter: To the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen¿¿s University,
My name is Sara Hadley and I am a second year student majoring in Biology. My student number is 10086629. I am writing this letter to appeal dropping a course, Geology 200, even though the drop period has ended. I have been experiencing some difficulties this year with mental illness, and it makes it quite difficult to concentrate on school work and studying at times. I have received a doctor¿¿s note explaining this, which you can find in my student file. I received my mark for my midterm in this course a couple of weeks after the drop period ended, and I did not pass. I would have dropped the course before the drop period ended if I had known. I am hoping that you will consider allowing me to drop this course and not have it appear on my transcript. With the circumstances of my mental illness, I feel this will alleviate some stress.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration
