Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Due to my anxiety disorder accompanied by further mental health issues such as depression and disordered eating, I wish to appeal the CLST 102 course as I believe that I am mentally unfit to successfully complete it. These circumstances have been apart of my life for a long time, however they have become overwhelmingly present in my life recently, increasingly becoming worse, and have severely impacted my ability to attend lectures and take notes. As such, I am not mentally fit to write the upcoming final exam on December 19th and am requesting to drop the course as I need to take time off in order to get better. I have already deferred my enrollment until next year so that I can take this time to consult with a health-care professional and pursue the next steps towards recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my request,
Megan Johnstone
