Petition Letter: Dear associate dean (studies) I am appealing for AG standing in the course BIOL 300 due to a worsening of my seizure disorder affecting my ability to go to class to participate in the in class evaluations. I had a severe seizure attack around early to mid September, it was followed by sleepwalking. I lived in Smith Hall and I found myself in Etherington hall in my pajamas. This experience was very traumatizing to me because I was extremely embarrassed walking all the way back to my room in my pajamas with a splitting headache and muscle pains from the seizure. I also have a shoulder injury that makes it dislocates easily, usually the pain goes away after a few hours but this time the pain in my shoulder lasted for over 2 weeks. I was extremely scared that the spasms had done more damage to my shoulder and was afraid that my shoulder might be worse. After the attack i started having blank-spells happening during the day and night where I randomly lose consciousness momentarily, this made me scared that my condition was actually worsening and not improving and I was too scared to leave my room except to eat at location 21 downstairs and go to labs. When I'm outside it also felt like i was in my pajamas and i feel like everyone's eyes are on me all the time. So i only went to classes that are mandatory and was otherwise too scared to go out of my room. I was so depressed that my seizure condition is actually worsening again, and i didn't want to talk to anyone and I had to try really hard to just get up everyday and keep myself happy. I was so desperate to force myself to be happy that i had to the momentary happiness from buying things to keep myself going. I knew that if i kept doing this i was going to miss the in class-evaluations of this class and another class that I was taking BIOL 350, but i was just too scared to leave, so i tried my best to finish all the other aspects of the courses, this was really depressing to me because I was going to lose a huge chunk of marks, but i had no choice, i just couldn't go outside. This basically lasted from when it began (mid-ish September) to around Dec-15ish, I was able to push myself to leave as there are not much people at school. I don't think my performance in BIOL 300 was great representation of my ability and so I am asking for help. I tried my best on all the other parts of the class, i really did. Please help me with this.
I am visiting my neurologist again soon to discuss with him what had happened this semester, hopefully he can offer me new medication or treatment or something to tell me that my condition is not worsening.
