Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am writing to you to appeal an error of mine in which I improperly dropped a course, resulting in a failed grade on my final transcript.
After speaking with the undergraduate assistant in the Economics department, as well as an academic advisor in the Arts & Science office, I was directed to you in hope that you would be able to help me fix this mistake of mine.
The course in question is ECON 240 from the Winter 2018 semester. During this time, I was originally enrolled in six courses but was forced to drop three of the six. In February 2018, I was invited to attend the Development Dialogue Conference in Hubli, India alongside the DD-Queen¿¿s Innovation Centre. After already falling behind in my work as a result of this trip, I was rather sick upon my return and opted to reduce my course load. I was already planning on returning for another semester to complete my second degree and did not want to risk falling too far behind.
Embarrassingly enough, I did not notice the error until I was recently retrieving transcripts for my graduate studies application. As a result, I am frantically trying to reprimand this mistake as it will very likely have an impact on my admission to graduate school.
Unfortunately, I do not have much evidence to support my claim. I am positive that I dropped the courses before the drop date but do not remember what the other courses were. The only summative assignments in ECON 240 were, to the best of my knowledge, a midterm and final exam ¿¿ of which I did not write.
I understand the abnormality of my appeal and am not looking for a refund of the course costs, but am hopeful that there is something I can do to fix this mistake on my transcript.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: After speaking with an academic advisor, I understand that a future plan for academic success is usually required alongside an appeal. However, given the unusual circumstances of my appeal, I do not believe that this applies to me in this particular case. That being said, I am certainly aware of my poor attention to detail whilst attempting to drop the course on SOLUS, and absolutely do not intend to do so again.
I have already finished the requirements for both of my undergraduate degrees and am hoping to attend graduate school at Queen¿¿s in the fall. As such, I am eager to continue striving for academic success and am hopeful to reprimand this rather embarrassing error.
