Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To the Office of the Associate Dean (Studies):

I am writing as I wish to add STAT 263 as a course for the 2019 winter term.

I have received and reviewed supporting your documentation. Based on the documentation provided, your instructors for the following courses have been notified that you began experiencing health-related extenuating circumstances on December 5, 2018, and that you are requesting academic consideration until December 14 -21, 2018 . Your instructors have been notified that you may be requesting exam deferrals.

The above is the academic accommodation I received due to my infectious mononucleosis. However, I was not back to working condition until January 6th 2019 (3 days before the deferred STAT 263 exam). I knew going into the exam that I was not ready and that my performance would not meet my academic standards. After the exam, I knew that I did very poorly and wanted to retake STAT 263 for the winter 2019 term. However, I was unable to add, swap, or even figure out if I could appeal for a credit standing as on SOLUS STAT 263 appeared as a course I have already taken with an NG (due to the deferred exam). I received a failing grade just today and wish to retake the course for the 2019 winter term. I am sure that I can do significantly better as I know the grade is not an accurate representative of my academic skills. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Dong Woo (Tony) Sul

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: If my academic appeal to add STAT 263 for the 2019 winter term is accepted, I plan to drop PSYC 204 in order to accommodate for the schedule conflict.
