Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
¿
I am submitting an academic appeal to drop CHEM 282 (Winter 2018), PHAR 270 (Summer 2018), and PSYC 271 (Summer 2018) after the deadline.
¿
I have struggled with my mental health since high school but did not recognize that I needed help until the end of the fall semester of 2017. I started to see a counsellor at Student Wellness Services in the winter semester of 2018 because I was unable to attend lectures, and did not sleep nor eat very well. I also started seeing a psychiatrist occasionally and tried various medication but it really made it hard to function academically (readings, labs, tutorials, etc.). This negatively affected my attendance and my ability to be successful in my courses. This is why I hope to drop my failed grade in CHEM 282.
¿
I stayed in Kingston because of my job in the¿summer of 2018 and took online courses during that time. My mental health got worse during this time and I was in and out of KGH throughout the summer. At the time period in which my exam took place for PHAR 270 and PSYC 271, I was hospitalized and was unable to attend my exam/take it online. This resulted in me failing the two courses and I hope to be able to drop these grades.
¿
Thank you so much for your time,
¿
