Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean Staff:
My name is Dang Tongbo who is an Undergraduate student in Economic Program in the Faculty of Arts. I am writing this letter to appeal to study abroad in my third year in the UCL.
UCL is the University which is located in the downtown of London, I just think that it is really useful for my undergraduate majority in Queens. I am an Economic major student and I need to know the broaden area of economic conditions in the world. Not only does UCL offer the good economic course, but also UCL can offer many projects with the famous London Companies and it is really a good chance to help me to collect the precious material for my fourth year seminar graduation course. Unfortunately, UCL does not have the exchange partnership with Queens, but I can apply the independent learning program in the UCL. I also talked with my Undergraduate Chair Ian Cromb and he also encourage me to try that because this opportunity is really useful for my future studies.
I apply to study there for two terms from 2019-2020. Ian Cromb told me that it may take me one more term to graduate because I need to take the remaining compulsory courses in Queens. I can accept this situation. The goal for my this independent learning experience is to study and I can accept to extend the graduation period in Queens and I can promise to finish all the fixed program requirement when I come back. At this time, I already achieve 3.49 CGPA and completer almost 60 credits in Queens. Also, I already finish all the Economic compulsory courses which is fixed in 200 level and get the good grades about that. I think I have the ability to study abroad and gain the further learning skills and economic normal knowledge in another university. Although I might cannot take the course which is not replaceable in Queens, I can take some elective economic courses which is also helpful for my basic knowledge and the future program progress in Queens .I think it is also important for my future development. Because in the future I want to do the financial jobs in the future and I should accumulate the knowledge for the different economic system in different countries.
