Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am an international student come from China. I am suffering from depression for two months ago. Sometimes, I have an urgent to suicide to end up all of those pain and stress at all, but the rest of time, I am also fear about the unknown world after death. The suffering of the insomnia and depression makes me sleepy and sometimes even headache in the mornings. The bad feeling both physically and mentally usually drives me weary about my study and my life, which makes myself to be in a vicious cycle that never ends.



About the course ,which is Econ241 I am appealing today, actually, I feel quite guilty about the professor as well. Professor Stewart is quite experienced and responsible,it is my terrible condition causes my low grade, For international students, our parents have to pay more money (about 40000 Canadian dollar per year).However, such a large amount of the fee didn't makes me successful, I am still a loser who always get Cgrades and evenD grades. Retaking one course means 4000 fee, my family is not rich but still support my study. Those feeling makes me stressful and guilty, so when I trying to memorize those concepts in that course, what in my mind was what if I did not do well¿, and that makes me feel more anxious.



The reason why I submit this appeal is because of my parents and my family members' expectation as well. I just do not want them to feel disappointment know I am so vulnerable and like someone need special help and need to be treated differently I hate this feeling, it is humiliating, but my depression has already lowered my grade and makes me suffer for that days and nights. I just do not want my parents and family down, because it may make me more painful. I went to the counselling service, and they offer me the accommodation I require. I tried my best to review every course, but my gpa is stilling falling. So, the reason why I want to change this course in to a CR is just because retake this course would spend 4000 earn by their hard working, I just do not want they pay for my depression and vulnerability.
