At the end of the summer I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. My previous diagnoses was depression.
The medications used for depression severely aggravate Bipolar disorder. Although they help me greatly with the depression aspect of the disorder it aggravates the Mania side. At the start of the winter semester after a severe manic episode I decided to go off of my medications as I deemed I posed to myself and others due to extreme mania. After I went off of my medication the affect on my academics was immediately noticeable. I began to let my studies slide in several of my courses and now am about a month behind in my coursework. In the past month I decided to go back on my medication but to take effect it usually takes a minimum of 6-8 weeks to take effect. I am requesting Credit Standing in my two computer science courses which are not part of my course plan.
In addition I forgot to mention that I admitted myself to hospital as my condition worsened to a point that I considered myself a danger to myself. I can get supporting documentation from my psychiatrist at your request.
