Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am appealing to have my ENIN140 Assignment 1 grade dissolved, and its weight reinvested into other assignments or tests within the course. During January 2019 I faced significant psychological challenges due to changes in medication. These changes were hindering my ability to grasp and complete my ENIN140 Assignment 1. I handed in Assignment 1 on February 8th and received an F (48). Before handing in this assignment I asked my instructor for an extension(as this is part of my accommodation), she has a two-day extension policy outlined in the course syllabus which I was granted. Unfortunately, two-days was not long enough for my situation. Upon correction of my medication, I reviewed my submission and was able to see how altered my thought process had previously been. I have been continuously seeing a psychiatrist who also concluded that this change in medication likely altered my academic performance. Thus, I am asking to have this assignment to be re-weighted or scratched from my final mark as it was worth 35 of my final grade and was a poor reflection of my ability.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am in the final semester of my degree and am hoping to graduate in the spring. While continuing to see my psychiatrist, I am striving to put my best foot forward academically as I am committed to completing this degree.
