Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Stephenson,

I am appealing to add PHAR 270 (Summer, 2019) past the date to add a summer course. I had originally been registered in CHEM 281 this summer, but decided to drop it and take it in the coming fall term instead. This decision was made because I believe I will be able to learn more and obtain a better grade if I take this course in class instead of online. I realize that I will be starting PHAR 270 three weeks late, but I plan to spend the next few weeks committing time to catching up on the course. I don¿¿t start my full time job until mid-June, so I will have a lot of time available to commit to catching up in this course. I am a hardworking student and will allocate many hours a day to this course.
By taking a course this summer, it will allow me to take one less course in the fall. I am co-Captain of the Queen¿¿s Field Hockey team, and the fall semester is always extremely busy as we are travelling and playing every weekend. If I don¿¿t take a course this summer, I will have to take 6 courses in both the coming fall and winter semesters to complete all my credits. Completing the PHAR 270 course during the summer would allow me to take 5 courses in Fall 2019 and 6 courses in Winter 2020.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Gray

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: By taking PHAR 270 this summer, it will allow me to take 5 courses in Fall 2019 and 6 courses in Winter 2019 to complete all my credits for graduation. By taking one less course in the fall, I can spend more time on my other fall courses and stay committed to playing on the Queen's Field Hockey Team. I believe that by reducing my course load in the fall I will achieve greater academic success.
