Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Because this is the first year of my university and I don't have any friend so I can not adapt to it. I feel great pressure during my first year both outside and inside. And I did not exactly know what major I am really interested in and how to take the suited courses when I first entered the university. At that time, my mom's business had a really serious time. The project she invested was failed. My mom said she could not afford my expensive tuition. I had to take time on a part-time job so I also had big financial pressure on me. I knew I really did bad both on my study and life. That was a really hard time for me. In that case, I fail my courses. Later, I made some friends in school and they said they can help me with my study and gave me many suggestions and I can ask them questions at any time. After careful consideration, I decide to change my physics major to economics which is more suitable for me. My mom's business is getting better and better and she said she will have a method to solve the financial problems. I can devote myself to study. I have much confidence that I can get satisfactory grades if I can keep studying in fall or winter term. I am looking forward to your reply. And that is my study plan. Firstly, I will change my physics major. I think physics is too hard for me after studying. My mom is good at math and her job is about economics and she encourages me to study economics. Then I will take extra tutoring from mentors weekly on my poor courses such as math. Thirdly, I will only take four courses each term so that I won't have too much pressure on each course and I will balance time on each of them. Lastly, i won't be shy to ask questions from professors or TA or my friends. I will ask questions in time and I really have much confidence that I can do better than my first year.
