Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Due to Extenuating circumstances, beyond my control I am requesting to appeal ENIN207(Summer,2019).
This summer I have struggled greatly with my mental health. I struggle with both anxiety and depression and because of triggering events that have occurred over the timeline of the course, I haven't been able to perform to my usual academic level. Due to personal reasons I don't wish to state the exact events. I see a counselor through Queen's Student Wellness services and since I am in Kingston for the summer I assumed that with appointments every 2 weeks, my mental health would be healthier and adequate enough to successfully complete an online course. This was not this case and I an devastated with the results I have come to. This in turn creates more anxiety for me, as I stress and worry about my post graduate studies and acceptance. The events started about half way through June. I thought I would be able to push through it and finish the course instead of dropping it earlier but it's been too difficult. After the events I was only concerned about my personal health and had to put other things on the back burner and at this point, the idea of the course and how poorly I've allowed myself to do makes me feel horrible. I believe in the moment I must focus on myself and my mental health fully and take time out of my studies to do so. For these reasons I hope you are able to grant me the appeal.
Thank you,
Hilary Milne
