Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whomever it may concern,
My name is Katia John and I'm going into my second year of Kinesiology at Queen's University. Over the summer of 2019 I took the online course of Physics 118 and unfortunately I developed a blood disorder that prevented me from doing my best in succeeding in this course. This blood disorder causes me to experience chronic fatigue and headaches which did not allow me the strength to study for the exam to the full extent and determination I always do with my courses. I attempted to submit my appeal a few days prior to the exam but feared it would be too late. During mid to late July, I had to go to several doctors appointments, specialist appointments, and get several medical tests done which occupied my days and did not leave me much room to study. The week of my exam, I had to make three trips to the doctors because my medication was causing me excruciating pain and discomfort, which hindered my ability to eat, making the blood disorder and its symptoms, worsen. My top priority, as well as anyone else's, is my health. It is extremely important to me, as it is ideal that I return to Queens in the healthiest state of body and mind. This grade has caused my GPA to drop which I fear will effect my OSAP, which is my main source of financial aid. Once again, I would like to withdraw from this PHYS 118 course past the deadline because of my recent health issues. I have a note from my doctor, one from my specialist, and a copy of my most recent blood work and prescribed medication as well as an appointment for iron transfusions that I put off to do after my exam as proof of my condition. The pain I experienced during the summer and today is truly indescribable and it caused me to drift from my academic priority.
Thanks.
Katia John
