Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Dr.Crow,
I am appealing to late drop ENIN 140 (Summer, 2019), and to get a CR for ECON 111 and ENIN 340 (also both of Summer 2019), instead of a grade.
I am currently enrolled in the Adult Eating Disorder Program at Hotel Dieu Hospital and have joined a letter from my therapist, Carrie. I have been struggling with my mental health for my entire undergraduate years, and it has really affected my school work and many other aspects of my life. I have been undergoing treatment since last fall and this summer I had the chance to get into a Core Group. However, this summer has been really hard as I have been continuously challenging my thoughts, behavior and actions and I was not able to spend my time studying as I had a lot going on.
I worked really hard to get my grades up this past year as I am hoping to graduate in the fall, and my health issue made it impossible for me to succeed this summer. These courses were not mandatory for my degree in Arts Sci, but were intended to boost my GPA (In order to get in to grad school, but had the reverse effect). I was not able to complete most assignments, and therefore didn¿¿t submit most, meaning I did terrible in all 3 courses I was taking. I did talk to my professor in ENIN 140 about a late drop, and this was before classes ended and final grades came out.
I did not drop the courses earlier as I really believed I would be able to pull through and submit the assignments on time and would succeed in doing so. My mental health seems to flourish under stress and deadlines such as academic work.
I am continuing to seek care at the hospital and know I will get better. I am currently learning to deal with my anxiety and my eating disorder and am on the right path for recovery.

Sincerely,

Charlotte.
