Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am appealing to enroll in a fall/winter course after the deadline because my plans changed last minute. Originally I was going to enroll on a full term of computer science courses, but I was not able to because I am not currently in a school of computing degree plan. I am struggling to recover my GPA from my first two years, where I had un-diagnosed attention deficit disorder, which I was not aware of until after my academic probation in second year. Since the school of computing is not the right choice for me at the moment, I decided to pursue my interest in philosophy. However, in my haste to get caught up on the work and do well in these courses; I did not realize that I had enrolled in only two courses. Unfortunately, I applied for full time OSAP and need to keep my full time status in order to continue to afford to attend school and live in Kingston. If I could be forgiven this mistake and allowed to be enrolled in PHIL 115, I could continue to study at this institution, free of financial stress.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My academic plan includes taking PHIL 115 and other philosophy courses in an effort to raise my GPA and apply into a different degree plan next year. I will most likely choose a philosophy degree plan as I have enjoyed the philosophy courses I have taken in the past. Now that I have found an area of study I am more passionate about I am confident I can do well.
