New Information: I would like to clarify some details from my initial submission. Essentially, I was considering dropping the four online summer term courses at the start of the term because I thought it would be more effective if I were to take that time off to reassess my education path and map out my degree henceforth. On May 22nd, I received a letter required to withdraw from my studies for a minimum of three years so I thought it would be best if I do drop the courses and take this opportunity for me to explore and find a track that best suits my interests. The last day to drop the courses was June 29th, 2018 and I applied to drop the courses July 2nd. (I was just basing it off of memory so I mentioned it was July 1st in the appeal but the records show that it was July 2nd when I tried to drop the courses). I did get in contact with the Continuing and Distant Studies department that day for further assistance and they replied the next day stating that since the deadline to drop without an academic penalty was June 29th and I applied July 2nd- I would not be able to drop the courses without submitting an academic appeal. I realize this is my mistake and I take full responsibility; I should have applied for an academic appeal to drop these courses sooner but since I let time go by and I was not a student anymore on Queen's student centre hub, I was neglectful that I was still enrolled in these courses and that I have not submitted the academic appeal yet. I would like to reiterate that I did not partake in any of the four courses in any means- assessments, course material, projects, etc. and I did not write any of the four final exams. I deeply regret my actions and due to this mistake, I am now facing the consequences and depending on the status of this appeal, I also have an outstanding tuition fees balance that I may have to pay without even taking the courses.
In terms of supporting documents to make the appeal strong, there was nothing that opposed me from dropping the courses on June 29th, I just realized three days too late on July 2nd. I hope this clarifies some ambiguity in my initial submission. I apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused, I hope you understands my clarification and thank you once again for your time
