Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop this course because after taking the deferred exam, I have failed the course.
I appealed for a deferred exam because I underwent my wisdom teeth removal procedure and the recovery time was longer, due to extreme pain and infection. I was unable to write my final exam for this course over the summer because of this and was able to have the final exam deferred until September 2019.
I did not pass the course and I know that I can do better. This is my second time taking the course because I was suffering from mental health issues during my second year and took it over the summer. I have a lot on my plate with my family situation, my mental health condition, and the stresses of a university student, like finances. I'm not blaming anyone but myself for this performance, but I was unable to complete the course because of extenuating circumstances. I would like to have this dropped so this does not affect my GPA and I would like the chance to take this course again because it is mandatory. In conclusion, I am appealing this to be dropped because I was unable to complete the course to the best of my abilities due to the procedure I underwent as well as other issues factoring into my wellbeing.
