Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Greetings Dr. Jenn Stephenson, my name is Tianbo (Joey) Ma. We've spoken with each other earlier this week about a departure from academic integrity, which resulted in a failing grade of a course. I understand the gravity of the situation, and I am ready to make up for my mistake. I am in my fourth year and I require 9 more units to graduate. I am currently taking 6 units on a letter of permission and I am appealing to you to see if you can approve a transfer of 3 more units on a letter of permission to make up for the failing grade. As I have said in the meeting, I currently do not have the financial ability to take a course at queens due to being an international student. It would work wonders for me if you could allow me to take 1 more class outside of queens. It would also speed up my graduation as a typical class at queens would take 4 months compared to 1-3 months from Athabasca University, where I am currently taking 2 classes. I am in good academic standing, have completed all of my core courses at queens, and I just need an elective to graduate. Please consider granting this request as I hope to make it for the December graduation. Thank you for your time.
