Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am currently appealing to drop a course after the drop deadline. The reason for this is my increasing anxiety around my graduation this year. I am currently in my 6th year of study after taking time off to deal with earlier issues with mental health, all of which has been dealt with and managed through Student Health Services, so while I do not currently have supporting documentation specifically regarding this time period (it is fairly difficult to get an appointment with Student Health, especially at this point in the term) I would be able to get it if need be. At this point in the term I am set to graduate even without the course I wish to drop, the only reason I was staying in it was to make my final term slightly easier. However, I feel the anxiety I have around this course will impede my ability to do well in the other courses this term and further delay my graduation. The course in question has delayed any marked coursework until this past week, and so I was unable to make the determination of whether or not to stay in the course until it was already too late to drop without an appeal. I feel remaining in this course will have an overall negative impact on my mental health.
