Petition Letter: Dear Staff

I was retaking CISC 121 in Fall 2019 and my final exam mark is only 49, I had contact with instructor and ask for regrade exam, Professor Powley replied me that she and other section professor has went though my paper and it is non-likely to increase my mark.( Very appreciate that reply me email before the holiday)

At Jan 6 which is the first of winter term, I have check with my final paper in instructor's office and I question about my grade which was underestimate, I will list some points during i checked with my paper,Since i don't take picture during paper checking. All of the recall might be slightly different from paper question but all could be provided to check.

Firstly, in the last question to build the binary tree, this question should be the part to check the skill of building tree. I have build a correct tree but question state that assume insert order no change, Since i have take later on course so i sort it before insert(more balanced), my final answer could be different from the standard version solution but i lost all the mark( 2 ). This question is really simple and tree i build itself was correct. Base on that, I tough that this grade is unreasonable.

secondly, in the explain question of complexity, question 2 is that ask the worst case of O(n2)(n square), my answer is that that worst case will run complete loop of an code, Given that this question was after the question of algorithm and this is the only part which is complexity computation is most useful, so i base on the sorting algorithm background to answer this question. Main concept is not changed, because worst case is running complete the code to find result and best case did not. Same as previous question lost all of the mark.

And the other question i want to point out is the answer format, in terms of asking result of code, i didn't know that should i write it in exactly screen shows or more logical answer(both two looks different). There is a question about recursion that asking what result looks like,code itself reverse the list element, i write it as order process in my brain and i also lost all the mark.

This regrade is really important for me because my next course CISC 204 has been drop because of this grade, of course, i have retake this course(121) in winter but I also really need later on course, I believe that i could get c- in this course at least. I will respect the decisions from University and Faulty. If anything further you need, please contact me, i will reply as soon as i can
